This painting was inspired by Oscar Wilde’s fairy tale “The Fisherman and His Soul.”
It tells the story of a fisherman who dares to give up his soul in order to be with the mermaid he loves.
Her haunting song changes everything — the sea, reality, and even his fate.
And when his life ends, beautiful flowers bloom from his grave.
Love is stronger than death.
